The following are Slack best practices to use when communicating with members of the Designity community:
Focus Time Policy: Designity follows a "focus time" policy from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET to encourage uninterrupted work. Please refrain from sending Slack messages during this time, unless the message is urgent and cannot be delayed.
Respect Working Hours: Please refrain from messaging outside of official working hours. If you're in a different time zone than the person you're messaging, consider using the pre-schedule message feature, which is especially helpful for asynchronous communication.
Communication Clarity: For clearer communication, especially when providing multiple points or feedback, consider numbering your thoughts within a single message. This approach helps organize your ideas and improves message clarity.
Editing Messages: If you happen to forget something or need to add more information to a message, Slack's editing feature allows you to make changes to your message rather than sending multiple corrections.
Responding in Threads: To ensure the right person receives your reply in a multi-person thread, click directly on the specific message you're responding to. This way, your reply will be sent only to the original sender, rather than everyone in the thread.
Use Slack Channels for Project Work: For team collaboration on projects, always use Slack channels rather than direct messages. This ensures notifications are manageable and accessible to all relevant team members.
No Email Within the Team: We do not use or send emails among the team. Slack is our primary tool for internal communication.
